As you know, Coldfire Promotions prides itself on providing our clients with creative and innovative tools for advertising. We’d like to introduce you to one of our newest ones, “PhotoTex.”
PhotoTex is a new, innovative material that can be printed on, much like a poster. However, it is much, much more than just a poster. With photo paper or card stock you have to buy a frame or use some sort of tack or Read more..
That’s right, we’re not all just business cards and brochures, Coldfire Promotions is your resource for all things creative and innovative. In this recent project, we worked with one of our clients to create a unique and entertaining surprise birthday celebration. Disclaimer: these pictures were taken with my phone so they aren’t the best of quality!
The event was hosted at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan this past weekend. Since it was an “Over the Hill” birthday, our client wanted to stick with a black and white theme. One particular part of this project was the posters. After 50 years, who wouldn’t want to look back and see some vintage photos? These were converted to black and white, blown up to 20”x30” and mounted to foam core board for stability. They added a nice touch to the entrance area!
And of course, you can’t have a surprise birthday celebration without a banner! This was a simple 3’x6’ banner, printed on vinyl, with grommets for hanging.
Here is where things get interesting, however. In addition to a projection screen playing a slideshow of the 176 pictures we converted to black and white, we also created table tents to entertain those that were seated throughout the theater! We created 25 different table tents, 6 black and white pictures on each, and then printed two of each for a total of 50 table tents. Not sure what a table tent is? You see them almost every time you go to a restaurant or bar! Typically they are used to showcase drink specials or featured dishes, but we used them to feature the birthday boy!
Immanuel Lutheran School tasked us with finding a unique way to promote themselves. Along with the principal and a member of the school board, we decided that this unique medium would provide stopping power and truly be attention grabbing. We originally had planned to put up posters and hang them with frames, but to cut costs and provide an easy transfer of photographs, we used a material called “PhotoTex” (like Fat Heads). This not only saved us a bit of money on the material itself, but we didn’t have to purchase frames as well!
