“Scrappin’ for a Cause” Campaign

In cooperation with K/E Electric Supply, Coldfire Promotions launched a massive, 2-month effort to raise $20,000+ for the Michigan Breast Cancer Coalition in August, 2011.

The object of the campaign was to get the customers, vendors, and employees of K/E Electric all involved. Donations were not only accepted via cash or check, but, as the name implies, the collection of scrap wire was the biggest part of the donation proceeds. K/E placed a “scrap wire bin” at each of their four locations in the Metro Detroit Area, as well as a life-size standup cutout of their General Manager, John White. Why the standup, you ask? K/E (and John) promised to shave his head if the goal of $20,000 was met. Not only that, but if $25,000 was raised, he promised to shave his 40 year-old mustache, too! He hasn’t seen his upper lip since 1971! Read more..

Surprise!

That’s right, we’re not all just business cards and brochures, Coldfire Promotions is your resource for all things creative and innovative. In this recent project, we worked with one of our clients to create a unique and entertaining surprise birthday celebration. Disclaimer: these pictures were taken with my phone so they aren’t the best of quality!

The event was hosted at the Motor City Casino in Detroit, Michigan this past weekend. Since it was an “Over the Hill” birthday, our client wanted to stick with a black and white theme. One particular part of this project was the posters. After 50 years, who wouldn’t want to look back and see some vintage photos? These were converted to black and white, blown up to 20”x30” and mounted to foam core board for stability. They added a nice touch to the entrance area!

And of course, you can’t have a surprise birthday celebration without a banner! This was a simple 3’x6’ banner, printed on vinyl, with grommets for hanging.Surprise Banner

Here is where things get interesting, however. In addition to a projection screen playing a slideshow of the 176 pictures we converted to black and white, we also created table tents to entertain those that were seated throughout the theater! We created 25 different table tents, 6 black and white pictures on each, and then printed two of each for a total of 50 table tents. Not sure what a table tent is? You see them almost every time you go to a restaurant or bar! Typically they are used to showcase drink specials or featured dishes, but we used them to feature the birthday boy!

ATV Promo Posters/Flyers (K/E Electric Supply)

One of our largest clients, K/E Electric Supply, held a sweepstakes for an ATV this summer. To promote this event, they asked us to create some marketing materials for them. We decided some of the best ways to help promote this event while generating sales was through posters and flyers. We created four different, yet similar, designs which allowed a form of cohesiveness throughout the campaign. The flyers were not only placed at the counters of the four locations, they were also mailed to the list of customers each month for four consecutive months. The posters were hung around the counter area as well. There was also a “rules” poster that traveled with the ATV to each of the four branches.

Needless to say, it was a very successful promotion! An increase of sales was generated, and the winner was announced at a luncheon held at the K/E headquarters. Congratulations to Rob Schwab of Great Lakes Power & Lighting on winning the ATV!
